Thruway Authority is addressing billing

In response to the Sept. 23 online article, (“Comptroller’s Office Finds Thruway Authority Overbilling at Schenectady Exit,”) the Thruway Authority has taken steps to address the findings in the Comptroller’s Office audit regarding the Interchange 25A toll charges, which is reflected in the Agency Comments section of the report.

As the Comptroller’s Office noted in the report, the Thruway Authority ensures accurate billing for most transactions with a limited number of exceptions.

Since the Thruway fully converted to cashless tolling in 2020, we have been constantly looking at ways to improve service to our customers. Cashless tolling is better for the environment, enhances safety and improves traffic flow.

Due to the current locations of the existing gantries in the Interchange 25 corridor, there was a delay in some toll transactions posting to customers’ accounts.
