Stop assault on our freedom of speech

Despite Trump signing an executive order “restoring freedom of speech” on day 1 of his term, his administration has repeatedly taken action to silence the speech of anyone politically opposing them.

Brendan Carr, the chairman of the FCC, and also the co-author of the Project 2025 media chapter, has encouraged the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel, and ABC — at least initially — complied.

When Stephen Colbert was canceled by CBS, Trump predicted in a media post Kimmel’s next! Carr has made it clear he wants to police online speech and “enforce” laws that call on broadcasters “to operate in the public interest.”

JD Vance, Stephen Miller and Pam Bondi have called for the prosecution of anyone who engages in “hate speech,” despite that being legally protected by the Constitution.

The Trump administration has been engaged in a long-running campaign to silence and punish political opponents. They are now exploiting the murder of Charlie Kirk to escalate these efforts. The irony is that........
