Perceived realities vs. real happenings
I would like to address the Hon. Norman Miller’s Sept. 24 letter, (“Writer failed to grasp some realities,”) published in The Daily Gazette. He was addressing a Sept. 18 letter, (“Call Gaza what it is: American Genocide,”) from Fred Nagel.
The right, led by President Trump, have been recently calling the Democrats “radical left lunatics,” including accusing them with the murder of Charlie Kirk. There’s no evidence yet as to the shooter’s political leanings.
What about the mass murders in Oklahoma City, Uvalde, Texas, Charleston, SC, El Paso, Texas? These were not the big cities that he recites and not all under Democratic leadership. I don’t believe that the concealed carry gun laws are a good idea for the general public.
Home schooling is a personal choice, but those children lose the opportunity to interface with their fellow students. Has Mr. Miller been to Gaza, West Bank, East Jerusalem, Ukraine or the Baltic States? The death toll in the Ukraine and especially in Gaza is huge. 65,000 souls and counting in Gaza.

Peace activism needs a diversity of voices
This past August’s annual peace conference at Auriesville as reported in the Aug. 16 Gazette, (“Peace conference to focus on humanitarian issues in Gaza,”) assembled actors, folksingers, poets and nurses charged with “spiritually and emotionally” sensitizing participants to the plight of the Palestinians.
