EDITORIAL: Learn from others on local energy storage regulations
Fans of the old Sunday morning cartoons know what happens to characters that get hit repeatedly in the head. Big pink bumps emerge from their scalp, they shake their heads violently to clear the fog, and then they go do something that gets them hit in the head again. And maybe again.
That’s kind of how it feels as a taxpayer to watch municipalities in New York react whenever some developer tries to knock them on the head with a proposal to construct a battery storage facility in their community.
Local communities have generally had the same response to these proposals for several years.
