Srinagar : Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Jay Shah, on Saturday congratulated the Jammu & Kashmir cricket team for scripting what he described as a remarkable story of grit and perseverance.

In a post on X, Shah said the players were fully deserving of the adulation they are receiving for their achievement. He, however, emphasised that equal credit was due to the coaching staff, team management and cricket administrators from J&K who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to shape the landmark success.

Expressing hope that the victory would inspire generations, the ICC Chairman said he was confident the triumph would ignite belief among the current generation in the region and motivate the next to take up the sport.

“Our sport is rich with such stories of inspiration from around the world and I hope this one also receives its fair share of admiration,” Shah said.
