Watch live: Trump Triumphal Arch plans to be presented to Commission on Fine Arts

The Trump administration will present President Trump’s proposal for a Triumphal Arch project to the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) on Thursday morning.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced during Wednesday’s press briefing that the Interior Department would soon submit plans to begin construction of the 250-foot arch in Memorial Circle on Columbia Island — a man-made island in the Potomac River that is managed by the National Park Service.

“It’s going to be really beautiful. I think it’s going to be fantastic,” Trump told potential donors at an event earlier this year.

The CFA meeting also comes as the administration has made headway on the president’s $400 million White House ballroom project, which the commission approved earlier this month.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. EDT.
