Watch live: NASA chief testifies before House on 2027 budget after Artemis II mission
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman will testify before the House Science, Space and Technology Committee on President Trump’s fiscal 2027 budget request — less than a month after the space agency completed its first crewed moon mission in 50 years.
The Orion aircraft splashed down off the coast of San Diego earlier this month after the four astronauts completed the 10-day Artemis II mission, which included a fly-by the moon. The mission took the crew further into space than ever before.
The budget requests $18.8 billion in discretionary budget authority for NASA for 2027, a $5.6 billion decrease from the 2026 levels — which includes plans to return to the moon by 2028.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
