Watch live: House Republicans give remarks amid DHS funding battle, Iran war unease
House Republican leaders will speak to reporters Tuesday morning after their closed-door meeting as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown persists.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is also facing pressure as unease grows within the GOP over President Trump’s conflict in Iran as it nears the 60-day mark. He is also juggling a slate of high-stakes legislative fights — from DHS funding to intensifying calls for another one of his members to step down or be expelled — ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
