Live updates: Hegseth, Caine to brief on Iran as ceasefire wanes

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine will brief reporters on Thursday morning, as the war nears the seven-week mark and the ceasefire hits nine days.

A series of Trump officials will make their way to Capitol Hill on Thursday, where lawmakers continue to duke it out over Immigration and Customs Enforcement funding and how to end the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown.

On the House side, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Energy Secretary Chris Wright will testify.

In the upper chamber, Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought will speak before the Senate.

In New Jersey, voters in the northern portion of the state will head to the polls to decide who will fill Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s (D) former House seat. Here’s what to know.

President Trump on Thursday will head to Las Vegas, where he’ll host a roundtable on his “No Tax On Tips” initiative.
