Stephen A. Smith on Trump’s Iran f-bomb threat: ‘It never ends with this guy’
Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith slammed a post from President Trump over the weekend about the conflict with Iran in which he advised Tehran, using an expletive, to open the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for the oil industry.
“Look, I ain’t no damn supporter of Iran, OK? Leading sponsor of terrorism, all of that stuff they want to do to Israel, stuff they’ve already done to America. I ain’t no supporter of that. But, you the president of the United States, you go on social media with a profanity-laced tirade, and then you gonna end it by saying, ‘Praise be to Allah,’” Smith said in a video posted Sunday on the social platform X.
“How do you think that’s going to help us? How do you think that’s going to help us throughout the world? I mean, seriously? For Muslims country — Muslim countries that ain’t Iran? It never ends with this guy,” he added.
On Sunday morning, the president went after Iran over the Strait of Hormuz. He threatened to strike the country’s infrastructure and pressed Tehran to “open the F‑‑‑in’ Strait, you crazy bastards.”
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F‑‑‑in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president said in a Truth Social post.
The day before, Trump threatened to rain “all Hell” down on Iran as the U.S. headed toward a self-imposed Monday deadline for Iran to open up the Strait of Hormuz.
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT,” Trump posted to Truth Social. “Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!”
Israel on Monday struck a major petrochemical plant in southern Iran, shortly before Trump’s deadline for Iran to reopen the waterway to all shipping traffic.
