Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) on Wednesday brushed off a question about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-N.Y.) recent comment in which she separated the future of the Democratic Party from what has been dubbed “Woke 1.”

“Well, I’m going to be honest … I don’t know what Woke 1.0 is, but I can tell you how I lead in Maryland,” Moore told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.

The governor touted a reported decrease in violent crime in the state under his administration, attributing this success to “historic investments” in law enforcement officers and “community violence interrupters.”
