Graham Platner faces new accusation, could drop out soon?  

Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner is taking a break from his campaign after a new accusation of serious wrongdoing: sexual assault.  

The accuser, an ex-girlfriend named Jenny Racicot, told Politico a very damning story. She says that in late 2021, he barged into her house blackout drunk, even though she had told him via text emphatically that he was not to enter her house. He did so anyway, and proceeded to force himself on her despite her protestations. The next morning, she ordered him to leave and subsequently broke off all contact with him.  

According to Politico, Racicot made available corroborating evidence, such as her messages with other people, including her therapist, in which she references the attack.
