India struck Pakistani-controlled territory early Wednesday in response to a massacre of tourists in an Indian-controlled territory last month.

The missile attack left eight people and one child dead, as well as multiple others wounded, according to the Associated Press.

The Indian government, in a press release, claims it was striking infrastructure used by militants, where it states "terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed."
