Rod Stewart praised King Charles III following the British monarch’s trip to the United States — which included an address to a joint meeting of Congress and a visit to the White House — telling him that he put “that little ratbag in his place” during the American tour.
“May I say, well done in the Americas,” the “Maggie May” singer said as he shook Charles’s hand at a Monday event in London.
“You were superb, absolutely superb,” Stewart, standing next to The Rolling Stones’s Ronnie Wood, told the 77-year-old king.
“You put that little ratbag in his place,” Stewart said.
Charles appeared to laugh off the comment according to reports from journalists capturing the exchange, but it’s unclear if he responded to the remark.
