BERWYN, Ill. (WGN) — A middle school in west suburban Berwyn, Ill., is closed Wednesday after a shooting near the school Tuesday afternoon left three people dead, including the gunman.

All three died at the scene near Lincoln Middle School, and the incident appears to be domestic-related, according to police. Berwyn North School District 98 said in a statement Tuesday that none of the individuals killed were students at the school.

Officials with Berwyn police said officers heard gunfire near the school just after 4 p.m. The school day had ended, and no students or staff inside the school at the time were hurt, but plenty were still around when the shooting started.

"I was in my room like at 4 o'clock, and I heard the gunshots, about 10 of them," Jonathan Garcia, who lives near the school, said. "And then after the last........
