(NewsNation) — Friday is “Give Like Dolly Day,” a day dedicated to supporting the late Dolly Parton’s philanthropic legacy, the Imagination Library, a program geared toward helping children learn to read by providing access to free books.

Give Like Dolly Day was announced Sept. 14 and set to take place Sept. 25, mirroring Dolly’s hit song “9 to 5.”

“Give Like Dolly Day will shine a light on Imagination Library Partners and encourage communities to rally around them and other local organizations helping children where they live,” the Dollywood Foundation said in the announcement.
