Alert issued for dino-shaped nuggets sold at Walmart over lead levels

(NewsNation) — Dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets sold at Walmart stores nationwide earlier this year may be contaminated with “unsafe levels of lead,” the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) warned.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert for the ready-to-eat chicken, rather than a recall, because the nuggets are no longer available to purchase.

However, the agency is “concerned that some product may still be in consumers’ freezers.”
