Lemme tell ya ’bout ol’ Jimmy Talarico, folks. He’s a simple man, a country boy whose pappy was a preacher, and he loves just four things in this world: He loves his woman. He loves drivin’ them back roads in his ol’ pick-’em-up truck. He loves cuttin’ taxes. And he loves securin’ the border.

If you haven’t been following Talarico’s media campaign, spend a few minutes to take a look. The great thing about being a politician with no real internal self is that it becomes comically easy to turn into some new person, pivoting from Beto-light soy opera on themes like the non-binary God and loving trans kids to…whatever it is that he’s doing now.

Apply the following comparison as widely as possible. This is James Talarico:

In 2022, James Talarico said it’s “existential” to reduce meat consumption to fight climate change."I am proud to say that our campaign has officially become a non-meat campaign… We are only buying vegan products from our local vegan businesses." pic.twitter.com/tz6K1aGYsy— Bobby LaValley (@Bobby_LaVallley) March 17, 2026
