Most of the political problems we face today are due to the fact that old men don't want to retire. Because old men don't want to give up power and sit at home, we continue to be spectators to firsthand embarrassment of these old men on both local and international television.

We as a country have had rulers over the years who have developed statewide policies based on whims and wishes instead of research. Such ignorance to empirical evidence was on full display by someone journalist Mehdi Hasan interviewed the other day. Not only was it embarrassing to watch, I thought I was being personally questioned. The guest was not only answering based on personal whims and lack of knowledge, but was doing so with full confidence and gallantry.

Even Mehdi Hasan seemed to be smiling and pondering in disbelief.

My guess is, he was probably baffled and unpleasantly surprised as to the levels of ignorance and........
