The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) allows voters two full weeks to cast their ballots early, an option that is proving too good to pass up for hundreds of thousands of people.

I have spoken with early voters who say pre-election day voting is simply more convenient. Many of us have busy lives, work commitments, school runs, and even travel plans. Australians in 2025 don't want to be locked into one specific day to vote. Early and postal voting offer flexibility for people who may not be able- or willing- to line up on a Saturday.
