ROOKE: Fired CBS Anchor Has Stolen Valor Meltdown, Cries On Camera

In the latest display of legacy media self-importance, Scott Pelley, the longtime CBS 60 Minutes correspondent recently fired amid internal clashes, delivered a masterclass in arrogance during his New York Times interview published Sunday.

Facing criticism from President Trump, Pelley equated his career as a journalist embedding with troops to actual combat service. Trump called Pelley “stiff” and part of a group of “stupid, crooked people that don’t care about your country.”

“Stupid? I can take that. Stiff? Yeah, probably. Don’t care about the country?” Pelley said, choking up and seemingly holding back tears.

This is when Pelley goes off the rails into stolen valor territory.

“I’ve never worn the uniform. But I’ve been in combat for this country,” he says through tears. “In Afghanistan and Iraq, Kuwait. I’ve been shot at, spent nights in foxholes filling up with water in the desert. I’m not aware that the president of the United States has ever........
