Satanism and demonic imagery took the stage by storm at Paris Fashion week.

The Matières Fécales debuted at the prestigious gathering of fashion’s haute couture show, attracting a high-end bougie list of celebrities. The show featured all the things one would expect from a presentation of this nature, as well as what appeared to be a direct nod to the underworld.

Grotesque, alien-looking aesthetics were added to the faces of several models, and some with shaved heads and dramatic makeup to complete the demonic looks can be seen in a clip posted to X.

Vogue’s write-up about the bizarre exhibit explained the theme: “The One Percent, Matières Fécales’ Fall/Winter 2026” collection.

The outlet deemed it the “most controversial show.”

Included in their synopsis were images of models wearing daring prosthetics, seemingly with domination and satanism at their core.

According to Vogue, the representation was intended to depict the richest 1% of people globally who own almost half of the world’s wealth, and it represented a radical expose of capitalism —but it may be too much for some.

This is a far cry from the bold beauty of supermodels strutting their stuff with minimalist makeup and letting the clothing speak for themselves. This particular showcase presented more like a gathering of costumes from the dangerous underground world, and that takes away from fashion altogether.

If the messaging was intended to spotlight satanism, the designers succeeded, hands down.

As a fashion show, this didn’t speak to fashion-forward viewers, or those looking for the hottest trends dominating the most highly respected runway.

Satanic imagery and themes have no place in the fashion industry.

This is a space traditionally held by the most elite models, where the focus should remain on creativity, craftsmanship and inclusivity rather than shock value. (RELATED: Demonic Scenes And Drag Queens Infiltrate MTV’s Video Music Awards)

Fashion has immense cultural influence, and aligning it with controversial or occult symbolism exposes audiences to dark concepts and overshadows the beauty viewers are seeking from a showcase of this nature.
