Corporate media is once again leaning into the “Stop Asian Hate” narrative, which spread like wildfire during the COVID-19 pandemic, after a Democratic California mayor was charged with acting as a foreign agent on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party.

Arcadia, California, Mayor Eileen Wang pleaded guilty after she was charged Tuesday with acting as an illegal agent of the People’s Republic of China, and now faces up to 10 years in prison. Of course, NBC News ran a story about online bigot trolls who replied to FBI Director Kash Patel’s post announcing the charges.
