INGERSOLL: The State Of Our Nation Will Be Summed Up In One Upcoming Manslaughter Trial

Welcome back to State of the Day, where I strip the euphemism and misdirection of the day’s news and give it to you straight – no ice, no mixer.
As anyone who’s studied even a little bit of history knows, one of the first things they do when they want to control you is to strip you of your right to self-defense.
RITTENHOUSE, PENNY … KNAPTON
After the second time his detached garage was broken into, Dayton Knapton bought a surveillance system and a handgun.
What this should tell anyone with any sense is that not only was Knapton tired of dealing with break-ins, he was also aware of the odds. This might just be conjecture, but it’s safe to assume he suspected that a baseball bat or some other non-lethal means might not be enough. He likely also suspected that a confrontation with these repeat offenders might be fatal for him otherwise.
We don’t know why he suspected that, but we might find out when his manslaughter trial kicks off.
