Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has chimed in on the debate regarding golf ball distance by saying that it’s a “ridiculous idea” to implement restrictions on balls that professionals hit.

A joint statement was issued Wednesday by the R&A and United States Golf Association, along with the DP World Tours and PGA, stating that regulations phasing in for 2028 will be delayed to 2030.
