Another Voice: Taxing nicotine products is proven public health policy

The New York State Association of County Health Officials strongly supports policies that reduce nicotine addiction and protect youth from harmful products. Evidence from decades of public health research shows that increasing taxation of nicotine products is one of the most effective tools available to reduce tobacco and nicotine use, particularly among young people.
