When Akhil Iyer and Shriya Narayan moved away from Bengaluru after their marriage, they found themselves missing a familiar comfort from home. It was not something elaborate, but a simple plate of hot, buttery Davangere-style dosa that reminded them of their childhood.

The couple searched across Mumbai for a dosa that matched the flavours they remembered, but nothing felt the same. Instead of giving up, they decided to bring that taste to the city themselves. The couple left their well-paying jobs and stepped into the food business, despite having no prior experience in the industry.

They began with a small 12-seater cafe in Bandra, with a definite aim to serve authentic dosas that carried the same taste and warmth they had grown up with.
