Swindonians reacted to the news of a recent survey naming this town the best place to get new job.

It was named the UK's most employee-friendly location by Adobe Express following research into the best place for a brand new work life.

Swindon came out on top after the 30 most populated UK cities and towns were compared based on factors such as average annual salary, unemployment rates, the amount of green space and the price of public transport and coffee.

This divided opinion, with some supporting the result and others countering its claim.

David Crankshaw said: “Never had a problem finding work there as an HGV 1 driver. Working up north just now, but hoping to move back to Swindon this year.”

Rob Reeve said: “Are the card shops expanding and recruiting?”

George Gwilliam said: “Wages are significantly lower than surrounding areas = I moved here from Portsmouth a few years ago for family reasons.

“As a HGV driver I’d get £3/4 an hour more on the south coast, and it’s nicer!
