As we approach Remembrance Day, Swindon joins communities across the country in paying tribute to those who have served and sacrificed in defence of our freedoms.
This solemn time of reflection reminds us of the courage shown by generations past, and the importance of ensuring their legacy lives on in our town.
Swindon has a proud history of contribution to the national war effort.
During both World Wars, our town played a vital role—whether through the men and women who served in uniform, or those who supported from home, including the thousands employed at the Great Western Railway Works,........
