Funding support granted for Torfaen former coal tip site
More than 400 former coal tip sites across Wales – including the British in Torfaen – will be made safer thanks to more than £80m of funding.
I am really pleased to see the Welsh Government announce a new multi-year grant scheme to enable vital maintenance works to make coal tips safer.
It means people who live or work in the shadow of coal tips can feel safer in their homes and workplaces, especially given the risks to disused coal tips with more extreme weather. I know people living near the British will welcome this money.
