Wales' largest free outdoor arts festival to return this summer
Wales' largest free outdoor arts festival is set to return this summer.
Big Splash, organised by The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre, will take place on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20, in Newport city centre.
The festival will feature live music, street theatre, dance, workshops, crafts, and activities for all ages.
The festival will transform the city centre into a "vibrant hub of creativity and celebration."
Last year, the event attracted more than 25,000 visitors.
Described as "a slice of Covent Garden in Newport," the streets will become a giant outdoor stage, with pop-up performances and free entertainment for all.
The festival has grown each year since its inception in 2010, becoming a key event for the outdoor arts sector in South Wales.
Last year, 45 per cent of attendees came from outside the city centre.
