'Refugees are welcome,' protesters outside hotel housing asylum seekers condemned
Residents in a Gwent area have voiced concerns over a recent anti-asylum protest in Rhoose.
The protest was staged outside the Holiday Inn, where Afghan nationals who aided British forces and have been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK, known as Entitled Persons (EPs), are currently housed.
A resident from Caerphilly, wishing to remain anonymous, attended the protest and described the events.
The individual said: "Reform supporters joined others outside the Holiday Inn, where Afghans, their lives in danger because of their work helping the British forces, have been granted asylum.
"On Friday [September 26], the protesters changed their tactics and occupied the roundabout immediately beside the hotel with an encampment.
"Their presence, with the acquiescence of the police standing nearby, has terrorised those in earshot of their high decibel protest and is an........
