A royal composer is encouraging talented young musicians from Gwent to enter a prestigious competition.

Professor Paul Mealor, who wrote music for the King’s Coronation and the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, is calling for entries for the 2025 Pendine Young Musician of Wales.

The competition, which is part of the North Wales International Music Festival in St Asaph, is open to soloists and instrumentalists.
