Major roads and trailheads will be closed for construction in Grand Teton National Park on and off throughout the summer, and long wait times are expected at the park’s largest entrance.

Intermittently impacted areas include the Moose entrance station — the easiest and closest gateway into Jackson, Wyoming, that includes a visitor center — as well as the Death Canyon trailhead, which is slated to close for the entire summer. An iconic row of historic barns known for photo opportunities and a well-traveled lake hike will also be temporarily affected by infrastructure updates.

Summer 2026 will be a heavy construction year in Grand Teton as it approaches its centennial celebration in 2029. “Parkwide construction projects are improving roads, trails, and visitor facilities to support continued access and stewardship for generations to come,” according to a park webpage.
