When is an evergreen not an evergreen?

Truth be told, evergreens are not forever green, which is why they are more appropriately called conifers.

Every year, as a normal part of a conifer’s growth cycle, evergreens will experience a certain amount of needle drop.

The extent and speed at which needles fall varies from species to species. Needle drops are also affected by environmental factors.

At first blush, homeowners might be concerned when they see extensive needle drop, but rarely is there a need to hit the panic button.
