How ‘Off Campus’ Gets Good Sex Right
The first season of this Amazon Prime series is like an instruction manual for young adults to have hot, satisfying, consensual coitus.
I don’t know if any of the students at Briar University are making the Dean’s List, but as a sex educator, I can tell you they know a thing or two about good sex.
Kids at this fictional Massachusetts college—the setting of Off Campus, Amazon Prime’s spicy spring hit—are asking each other for consent, negotiating new sex positions while fully clothed, setting the terms of their relationships without playing games, using sex toys and condoms, and going down on each other. No orgasm gap to be found.
These characters are practicing what I’ve always preached: trust, communication, and mutual pleasure. And they’re being rewarded with plenty of climaxes and some of the healthiest young adult relationships I’ve seen on television.
A fake relationship with real chemistry
If you haven’t watched Off Campus yet, do. First because it is fun and sexy and heartwarming and well written and really hot. And, also, this article has spoilers.
The first season, released in May 2026, focuses on music major Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) and star athlete Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli). He’s the captain of the hockey team, and is completely naked during their “meet-cute” in the locker room (Wells, who rides a bike to get around campus, is cleaning the locker rooms as one of two jobs that helps her pay for college.)
They run into each other a couple more times before Garrett—who is a big deal around campus because he’s also the son of a hockey legend—concocts a fake dating scheme: She’ll help him pass their philosophy class, and he’ll help her catch the attention of a moody musician named Justin (Josh Heuston).
While this fake dating setup is rather flimsy—Hannah is too appealing to need help getting a guy’s attention, and Garrett clearly knows plenty about the Danish philosopher........
