Romance leaves a paper trail. Or at least a browser history. People search for how to propose, what to write in a love letter, and when to book an anniversary trip. Enough of those searches, repeated often enough, turn affection into data.

Health and wellness website Innerbody used that signal to measure how actively people across all 50 states plan, research, and rehearse romance — not what they say about love, but what they do when they open a search bar.

Turns out, love is a very searchable sport. Some states treat it like a full-time project, with citizens........
