Google is challenging E.U. orders to open Android to rival AI services and share search data

The company filed appeals with the E.U.'s General Court on Tuesday, warning the measures would harm user privacy and device security

Google $GOOGL filed appeals Tuesday with the General Court of the European Union challenging two orders — one compelling it to hand search data to competing search engines, another requiring it to open Android more broadly to AI services from rivals.

The European Commission issued the binding instructions in July under the Digital Markets Act, a law that governs how large technology companies must behave in the E.U.'s digital markets. The search data sharing requirement carries a January 2027 deadline, while the Android changes are due by July........
