When the issues first were made public, I tended to support Gilles Arsenault. After all, one is innocent until proven guilty. However, considering the present RCMP investigation, Gilles’ absence from the house sittings, and now his request for a leave of absence, raises more doubts. As our sitting MLA, he has an obligation to represent his district, something he isn’t doing at the moment. He still receives full salary as a serving MLA but is not fulfilling his obligation to us. We presently do not have a government representative and that is wrong. Mr. Arsenault has to decide if he plans to continue as our MLA or to step aside so someone else can replace him. The ball is firmly in his court, and we need a prompt decision from him.

Appreciation for volunteers
Recently, I was a patient in ambulatory care at Prince County Hospital in Summerside. Nurses, staff, etc. and volunteers were as good and polite as can be. Some volunteers even travel from Charlottetown at their own expense. Working for........
