The grass was cut and manicured by the hard working municipal team. The path was flattened and graveled. Trees were trimmed and made ready to welcome visitors for the opening of the new Lakehurst Hall Lower Bowl outdoor events space.

The project had been underway for less than a year. Thinc Design Inc. provided the concept and design and Young’s Construction did the construction. A grant for $185,400 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) provided the funds.

MC Nate Glasbergen thanked everyone in the audience for coming and introduced the first speaker, MPP Dave Smith. Smith said this project aligned perfectly with community goals. Furthermore, the number of people gathered exemplified the importance of this project and the building of community. Paul Rosebush of OTF stated that Lakehurst Hall applied for the grant.

This project fit OTF guidelines perfectly. Mayor Terry Lambshead pointed out that this was an unutilized area and has been transformed with the three-tiered Armour Stone........
