A young bald eagle family is calling the Kawarthas home
I have been dying to show you these pictures of a new young bald eagle family here in the Kawarthas, but I wanted to wait until after the young eagle had fledged so as not to attract attention to the nest that might interfere with their safety and ability to raise their young.
That has happened, and we have a new young eagle soaring the skies of the Kawarthas, so now I can tell their story. This is a young pair of eagles. They are almost certainly offspring of other locally nesting bald eagles. It is exciting that Kawartha eagles have successfully raised young eagles that are now raising their own young eagles.
Mom feeds the hungry youngster while Dad organizes the nest.
You can tell these are young eagles because they still have just a touch of brown on their tail feathers and heads. They had paired up last year and did build........
