ME needs a multilateral diplomacy-based order
IT is a recognized fact that Middle Power Diplomacy acts as a critical stabilizer and catalyst in multilateral diplomacy. Multilateral diplomacy is imperative for managing today’s Middle East crises because unilateral actions and military escalations have proven incapable of delivering sustainable security or preventing devastating regional spillovers. The persistent instability demonstrated that no single power, however dominant, can impose order on a region defined by complex historical, sectarian and geopolitical fault lines. Sustainable peace demands a paradigm shift from a coercive unilateralism to inclusive, ruled-based diplomacy that respects sovereignty and legitimate rights.
