Oxford United's summer signings rated: Lankshear stars and Krastev critiqued
It was a chaotic summer for Oxford United, to say the least.
Seven additions all came in with the aim of securing a third season in the Championship and have received mixed assessments.
With the January transfer window upon us, here is a review of each summer signing.
Will Lankshear - 7.5/10
Starting with arguably the most impressive, Lankshear has tied down a spot in the centre forward position for the U's.
He has most often been preferred to his other striking comrades and is the Yellows' top goal scorer with seven for the season so far.

The Tottenham Hotspur loanee has displayed some quality finishing when provided with the opportunities and has shown his elite attitude.
Filip Krastev - 4.5/10
A highly-rated pickup, joining from City Group-owned Belgian club Lommel SK on loan, Krastev has struggled to become a mainstay in the U's side.
The physicality of the Championship has proved a challenge though he has shown flashes, a last-minute equaliser at Norwich City the standout.

Brian De Keersmaecker - 8/10
Debatably the best pickup of the bunch, De Keersmaecker has been excellent.
Adjusting quickly to the division, he stepped up in the absence of Cameron Brannagan and is one player who plays consistently well and has moments of quality to influence games.
The possibility of selling players on must come in to consideration and, at 25 years old, the Belgian is one who may prove valuable.

Centre back Davies has not seen loads of action, but has done well when stepping in.
He has mostly played when the U's have operated with a back three, with former head coach Gary Rowett praising his ability and often lamenting the fact that he could not use the Rangers loanee more often.
Brodie Spencer - 7/10
The preferred right back at the club, Spencer is a solid Championship right back.

A good start to the season preceded him suffering an injury, coming back just before Christmas.
He is understandably taking a bit of time to get fully back to form, but he has been worth bringing in and expect more to come from him.

The Cagliari loanee has had the odd good game but, with Lankshear the favourite forward, he has not had a consistent run of games.

Prelec's hold up play is his best attribute, but he has failed to score more than just the single U's goal.
He has impacted games, finishing well in a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough and doing well in midfield in the Boxing Day win over Southampton.
Harris was not quite what Oxford needed, though, as he is more of a tenacious presser and gets on the end of things, rather than being the creative spark in the side and has since been recalled by Fulham.
