Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told he set up a number of fake accounts to continue the abuse which included foul-mouthed threats.
Proud, of Pingo Road in Watton, pleaded guilty to harassment between March 15 and 30 last year.
Dylan Ward-Murtagh, prosecuting, said: “He was unable to manage the end of their very brief intimate relationship.”
They had met twice for a “sex only relationship" after hooking up via a dating site but the victim had decided he “no longer wished to see him”, he added.
Representing himself, Proud said his offending had been short-lived and there had been no contact for over a year.
Magistrates sentenced him to a 12 month community order with requirements to do 15 rehabilitation days and 150 hours unpaid work.
They also imposed a 12 month restraining order.
