'Don't be mean!' Norwich City bosses ridiculed after ordering fans not to be abusive

The club has posted a message on social media warning it will not tolerate "abusive behaviour" during Saturday's Championship match against Leicester City.

The statement - which comes shortly after Shane Duffy, one of the club's most senior players, called a fan a "k**" online - has prompted outrage and criticism among supporters.

One supporter replied: "I don't condone any abuse whatsoever. The supporters would like to remind the club that we shouldn't have to tolerate ineptitude, arrogance and inaction from a board, an executive team and a football manager that thinks it knows better and treats its fanbase like dirt."

Another wrote: "But presumably it's ok for the club's highest earner to abuse fans on social media? Appalling management of the club is the reason for protests.

"Goes without saying that abuse of staff family members is unacceptable but passive threats like this tweet won't make you........
