Teenager came 'within an inch' of killing man he stabbed 10 times in 10 seconds
Elvis Price, 19, attacked Danny Norman as he was walking with his fiancée and their children on Bury Road, near the centre of Thetford, on Mother's Day last year.
Norwich Crown Court (Image: Peter Walsh, Newsquest) Mr Norman, who served with the Royal Anglian Regiment, and his family were heading home after a breakfast out.
He was stabbed more than 10 times in 10 seconds after the "chance encounter" with Price.
The pair lived near each other, close to the scene, and there had been long-standing tensions between them, including rows over Price revving his motorbike.
Mr Norman needed life-saving treatment following the attack, which was partially caught by his partner Sophie Wheeler on her mobile phone.
He now relies on a stick and a mobility scooter.
