Marley Rodgers had been due to stand trial accused of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

It followed an incident when the 19-year-old drove a van at the male victim on the B1116 at Weybread in Suffolk.

Following the incident on September 6 last year, the victim suffered a fractured elbow which required surgery.

Rodgers, of Lime Tree Avenue, Long Stratton, appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Monday (March 9) for the start of his trial.

But Rodgers entered a guilty plea to the charge before a jury was sworn in to try the case at court.

Andrew Jackson, prosecuting, said in this case the van driven by Rodgers was "used as a weapon".

Rodgers was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Wednesday (March 11).

The teenager also admitted driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and failing to report a road accident on September 6 2025.

The defendant will also be sentenced for threatening behaviour, possessing a machete and possession of nitrous oxide on June 13 2025.
