Giving evidence during the trial of Arvydas Maliusis, 38, of Recorder Road, Norwich, the witness said she had unsuccessfully tried to pull him off Ilja Akatjevas.

The woman told a jury at Ipswich Crown Court she had pleaded with him to stop during the attack which lasted several minutes.

She went on to say she saw blood coming from Mr Akatjevas’s mouth while Maliusis was standing over him and punching him, but added she did not think he was going to die.
