Three new homes could be developed on land next to the historic Bowthorpe Hall on the city outskirts if developer, Jon Piggin of Village Homes Norfolk, gets permission.

However similar plans from another company owned by Mr Piggin, Pihi Developers, in September 2023 were refused on the grounds it would "cause harm to the setting and significance" of the hall.

In the latest design statement, submitted to Norwich City Council this week, it says: "The location of the proposed three new dwellings is at the site of the current existing, underused, car parking area.

The unused car park next to Bowthorpe Hall could be converted to accommodate the new homes........
