City Hall admits risks posed by 'urgent' background check issue
The issue emerged at Norwich City Council's audit committee this week, where councillors were told there was a risk "inappropriate" employees may have been appointed to roles.
While checks have still been carried out by the council, changes to its IT system mean records of these are not held in one place and are difficult to review as a whole.
The admission has raised concerns among councillors about the handling of important data at City Hall.
